Since the time of Fenwe, Ranjit, and Cheval Roi, horses have been coming to the Pool to locate their loved ones and to find a herd in which to live. Once regarded as a place of gentle beauty by the Luce and of hatred and disgust by the Score, Clearwater Pool once had a large pond that served as both a meeting point for mares looking for a new home and as a souce of inspiration for all of Maison Belle. The pool was once full of sweet water that many would travel too daily just a drink from; now, however, the topmost layer of the water is caked with ashes and the bottom of the pool is filled with the long decayed bones of fish and other animals that were so unlucky to fall in. The ground, covered once in lush grass and pristine flowers, now lies beneath a layer of rock many believe to be three feet or more thick. This place is still used by the mares coming to Maison Belle as a place to find a home, but it is now almost as dangerous as the Score lands it lies next to.

The once smooth grasses of Clearwater Pool roughed themselves into rocks and crags that became Rocky Hill. Now, though, there is little more than a slight rise in the landscape to indicate that the area has changed. Rocky Hill has been used for generations for passing on the lines of horses and creating new life. Many famous equines have been concieved here; Grudge, of Ranjit and Adviendha; Andear, of Fenwe and Star Struck; Veryan, of Cheval Roi and Lightwing. This land has remained unchanged, as it was barely touched by the volcano; it was always rocky and filled with dangers for the horses trying to breed.

So long it has been now since the place had a waterfall that did not sluggishly fall with ashes, that only the most ancient of horses can remember it. A century ago, the thundering sound of a thousand tons of water spilling over a rocky edge could be heard even to the furthest Score lands. Now, ash from the volcano has spilled into this land of sacred beauty and tainted it. The pool, once filled to the brim with splashing water and leaping fish, now has a layer of ash over it so thick that the bottom cannot be seen. Even with all its splendid beauty gone, mares still come here when the time is right to foal to grant their child entrance to the world.

The Red Fields are a macabre area in the land, like a scar that has never healed. Bones of the deceased lie around in delicate piles or scattered about from scavengers. There are places were the soil has been stained crimson with the blood of those who have fought, lived, and died here. It is said that Fenwe, the light king slaughtered by Ranjit, haunts this place, screaming out his anger at his death. Of course, the old horses know this to be false, but the rumors are encouraged to keep foolish equines from wandering here. Animals such as pumas and wolves frequent this place, hoping to stumble upon a meal of a dying horse or a foal foolish enough to come to one of the most dangerous places in all of Maison Belle.

For nearly three decades, Azul Meadow was considered to be one of, it not the most, beautiful Luce lands in all of Maison Belle. The grasses had been tinged a pale blue and stretched out for miles in either direction, though the land also dropped off sharply to its east into the Score land, Scorchland. A large lake and a huge weeping willow, probably centuries old, stood in the very centre of the land, as though the creator had placed them there perfectly. After the volcano erupted, however, Azul Meadow lost its pale sapphire grasses; most of the suface is covered in hard rock. The lake and tree remain, however, though the lake is a dull brown and the tree's huge boughs bend with the weight of the ashes still settled upon them. The most beautiful of the Luce lands, now looking like the Score lands it borders.

Since before the time of Fenwe, Whispering Valley has rivaled the beauty of Azul Meadow. The valley is crisscrossed with streams, which is how it’s name originated. The streams sang and whispered to those living here, and perhaps that is why Fenwe himself, and his prince called this place home. Even now the streams still have their songs - the volcano could not take that away. Although now they are ashen, the water is no longer clear and crystalline, and the bottoms are no longer lined with white sand. The land dips inward, creating a basin that is border on the North and West side by a thin chain of mountains that are adjacent to Rocky Hill. Patches of knee-high grass grow in some areas that was not destroyed by the molten rock, giving a glimpse of the past. It is still considered by the old horses of Maison Belle to be the land of the Luce King, but whether or not anyone will settle here, only time will tell.

Eternity Skies was named for the fact that the pale blue sky that almost always covered it seems to stretch out over the world endlessly. Once a very pretty land of sweeping hills and plunging valleys, some fill with small ponds, other grasses and trees, it was once owned by Sidhion. Now, however, after the volcano's lava went through, it has been left in ruins. The water sources have dried up and there is little to no food sources. The very tops of the tallest hills are free of volcanic rock, though everything else is covered in it.

Scorchland, always a dangerous place, is now more dangerous than ever. When the lava and ash trickled into this land from its neighbors, it slicked over the sand that covered over ninety percent of this Score land. In the course of decades, the constant, driving wind and brutal dust storms smoothed down the lava rock until it was as smooth and polished as a humanoid mirror. However, it merely makes the land more deadly to live in. If the sun shines down upon the planes of smooth glass at the right spot, it can blind horses that look at it. During the winter, when snows cover the ground, it is impossible to see where these stretches of smooth earth are and thus, can cause a hrose to slip and break its leg. Water, however, is rather plentiful, as there is a large lake on the southern border that was missed by the volcano. Food, on the other hand, is slightly more difficult to locate.

Scorchland rolls into the valley of Dread, something it has been known as for decades. Ash, lava hardened to rock, and pumice cover the land in a thick layer that had killed the tree and grasses once covered in blood to make them more appeasing to the Score who ruled this land. A vast array of horses lead this land; Ranjit, evil beyond all imagining, sinister up until he died. Spawn, Ranjit's loyal friend (and some believe, lover), holding the Score throne until he, too, was killed. Thorn, the twisted yet cowardly heir to the throne, son of Ranjit, throwback to ancestors of ivory pelts. And Sarwin, bastard son of the once great King, demonic enough to snatch the land for himself. All have lived here in this land of evil and sinful things and in time, equines of devious nature may come to live here again.

The third of three valleys in the land of Maison Belle, this final valley is perhaps the most famous and infamous of them all. Many years ago, the land was considered one of the best looking Score homes, with long grasses and slow moving rivers that chugged their way through the land. Its most dominant feature was the massive volcanic mountain that towered over the landscape. Now, a hundred years after the eruption that changed everything, these barren lands lay empty and cold. Counterpart to Scorchland, this land stats chilly, even during the hottest months of summer. Once ruled by half-brother to Ranjit, a black beast known as Rashid, this area is empty and will likely remain that way. The old horses of Maison Belle scorn this land and some even haunt it. It is said that the ghost of Spawn resides here when not in Hell, seeking vengeance on the volcano that took his life.

Named for the waterfall that tumbles down over a few high rising rocks, Javaic Falls used to be a very lovely Rebel land. The land surrounding the waterfall and its subsequent pool was covered in lush green grasses. Streams trickle off from the pool and its source of everflowing water, coming together to form Serenity Creek just a few miles to the west. The waterfall and its pool are still there, looking less that lovely now days. The ash that drifted from its neighbor of Volcanic Valley settled heavily upon the land, laying atop the water and ruining it from drinking. Only the streams, kept clear from their everflowing waters, are safe enough to drink. The volcano even conquored the waterfall; it trickles sluggishly over the rocks, no longer a roar, barely a whisper.

Many years ago, before the volcano, before this land was owned by the brute that gave it its name, a fire swept through and burned the land, giving it a dead appearance. Boulders, most likely carried here eons ago by moving glaciers, litter the land, but it was not the huge rocks that gave this hilly land its name. A brute, cruel and almost Score in his mannerisms, claimed this land for his and challenged for the Rebel Queen, Lightwing. He was eventually defeated by the combined efforts of Ranjit and Fenwe. After the volcano, Boulder Hill became even more desolate and barren. The few trees that had been in the land had burnt in the flames caused by the lava and the few patches of grass are gone. There is little water and almost no food. It is a hard place to live.

The renouned home of the great rulers Cheval Roi and Lightwing, Serenity Creek was once a paradise fit for any ruling pair. Carpets of green grasses covered the sod, trees twisted and twined their way up from the ground, stretching to the skies and shading the land with their boughs. The creek that trickled and hummed its way through the land was crystalline and purer than any other; even Score had been known to ask permission to taste its perfect waters. The aftermath of the volcano left it a wasteland. Barren stretches of volcanic rock cover once perfect grasses, while the creek moves along its denoted path. Ash and soot covers the water, making it almost impossible to drink except in the most dangerous places, where the current it fast and strong. Some of the trees still stand, their trunks scorched from the heat of the flames. While the King of the Rebels will live here, it is no longer a land for a King.

The rough crags of Broken Stones give way to lush grasses, covering the ground in a thick carpet. The only appearance to a living horse that anything is different in the area where the metaphysical realm of Heaven is located it a slight uprising in the eastern portion of Broken Stones. To a deceased equine, on its way to the afterlife, would see a winding hill that begins to lose its rocks and stones and become a rich emerald. Once the hill was topped by the horse, the sight of vast valleys and sparkling lakes appears. Trees, larger by far than their counterparts in the physical world, stretch their boughs out, sweeping the ground in a gentle caress. In the mornings, soft fog flows over the land, hiding the sod that holds no dangers to any equines here. It disappates by noon and by night, stars and an ever-full moon ride the cloudless sky. The ruler of Heaven can decide when rain falls or when the sun shines, the grasses never wither and die, the lakes never run dry. No evil can penetrate this place with malcontent.

In the southern end of Broken Stones, the air seems to shiver and shimmer. There seems to be an invisible field keeping any living animal from walking through this space, but the ghosts of the living are capable of striding right through it. Once passed through, the rolling hills, wide spaces, and dark forests of Purgatory are visible. The land has been described by many to be a meeting of Heaven and Hell; the forest parts and dark and dangerous, with lurking creatures, mutant spawn of the animals that live in Heaven and Hell. The rivers and streams that snake through the forest hiss and bubble with heat, steam rising and clogging the air. The hills and valleys, on the other hand, are stunning in their beauty. With deep lakes of crystalline, albeit slightly warm, water, swimming with fish and other sea creatures, as well as many large oaken trees that clamber for space in the clearing, the main gathering space for the deceased Rebels is by far one of the most beautiful places in all of Maison Belle.

The entrance of the land of Hell is located just on the west side of Broken Stones. The only sign of it is a large chasm that opens up in the maw of the earth and slants itself downward into a land of darkness. A humanistic gate, immense, towering, and ebony in hue, guards the entrance, a demonic sentinel. Through that gate lies the land of creatures more fantastic and terrifying that many of the horses that used to live and currently reside within the land of Maison Belle cannot even begin to dream of. A vast, dark land of deep caverns and boiling lakes, hundreds of feet deep. Rivers of blood snake their way through the towering trunks of trees whose branches sway and whip in a wind that never ceased. Fire crackles up from the ground, scorching any animal foolish enough to be caught in them. The dead Score, legends such as Ranjit, Obsidian, Spawn, Thorn, and Sarwin, rule this land of fire and hatred, continuing to twist and manipulate the minds of the horses of Maison Belle.

For centuries well before and long after the arrival of the great Cheval Roi, slate and limestone rock lay upon this land, giving it the name of Broken Stones by the horses who came to live here. The overall appearance of the stones, even before the volcano, had been bleak and grey, with almost no spots of life or plants. In places, the air shimmers, or the land drops away into the metaphysical worlds in which the deceased live. The stones have been, since the time of the original Maison Belle, a place of neutrality and peace, where equines could come to stand in silence for as long as they wished, or to converse with those long deceased. There is to be no fighting here, no harsh words or angry glances, for this is a place of eternal peace.
